Understand once and for all the differences between invoices!

With technology increasingly developed, several administrative processes are migrating from paper to digital.

The invoices have been in the electronic model for some time now and if you still have doubts about them, you are in the right place!

It is a fact that issuing electronic invoices (NFs) for your sales and services is a simple but essential step to ensure that your company is legalized.

But what are the types of electronic invoices?

What are the differences between them?

Let’s analyze each of them so that there is no doubt!

Electronic Invoice (NF-e): The NF-e is intended for the registration of commercialization, industrialization and any form of product circulation. Other occurrences related to merchandise and that have an influence on tax processes are also accompanied by an NF-e.

Electronic Service Invoice (NFS-e): The NFS-e is controlled by the municipalities, which define criteria established for its regulation. Municipalities have absolute power under the Services Tax (ISS), which taxes most services.

Electronic Bill of Lading (CT-e): It is only issued when there is provision of a service involving cargo transport between cities and states. The CT-e is one of the only supplies taxed by ICMS.

Electronic Tax Document Manifest (MDF-e): It serves when road freight transport has more than one CT-e. It unites all the information of each note contained in the total load loaded in a vehicle, single locomotion.

The MDF-e was created to facilitate traffic inspection, as only one document needs to be checked, regardless of how many products the vehicle is carrying.

Electronic Consumer Invoice (NFC-e): It is for individuals who buy for themselves. At the end of all product sales, it is necessary to issue the invoice, which can be printed on a thermal printer, common or sent by e-mail to the customer. It is not geared towards business activities.

At each sale, the information is transmitted to the Secretary of Finance and this data can be consulted at any time. The purpose of using the NFC-e is to extinguish the ECF, give more security and agility to the FISCO and also to the pet shop. It is very similar to the NF-e, but it has differences in information and rules. Your company may need to issue NF-e and NFC-e at the same time.

Now that you have learned a little more about the types of electronic invoices, we hope that it will be easier for you to issue them at your company!
